The Beast of the Anthousaï

The Anthousai Beast Mane, cotton

The Beast of the Anthousaï is a polymorphic piece, comprised of a poem, a series of four illustrations and a headpiece. The three pieces reflect on conscience and awareness of nature through poetry and new myth constructions, The headpiece acts as a materialisation of this myth, acting as an emotional prosthetic, becoming the aware lion crown with flowers.

Sequence of paintings

I dreamed
That in the meadow of Iris,
The anthousai gathered flowers,
Mosses,
Ivy,
And amanitas.
One by one,
they crowned the gentle beast,
The gentle beast from another land,
The gentle beast that observed everything,
The gentle beast that answered their deepest questions.
And from flower to flower,
its mane that adorned it,
Grew exuberant and became a moor,
Filled with flowers,
Filled with mosses,
Filled with ivy,
And amanitas.
And those who walked upon this moor
Rejoiced in a peace,
The same peace as the gentle beast's,
Which became a land for all,
To finally rest all concerns,
And to feel the free fragrance of a tranquil heart
.
